Those who want to spice up their daily driving diet will find the new Fiesta to be more fun. With its eager, smooth engine, agile chassis, and well-weighted steering, the new Fiesta thoroughly disproves the theory of small, inexpensive, and practical car that will be more exciting to pilot.

The new 2012 Fiesta SE is also available in both hatchback and sedan body styles. The SE sedan trim adds power windows, metallic cabin accents, and door locks. SE hatchback is also offered with similar features as SE sedan, but it adds a rear wiper and rear spoiler. It comes with intelligent access with the help of a push button start. Press your thumb on the door to get access.

For the year 2012, the vehicle includes 2 new interior style packages, and a new sport appearance package is introduced.

Engine Details

2012 Fiesta SE is powered by a 1.6-L inline-four engine that produces 120 horsepower and torsion of 112 pound-feet. A five speed manual transmission is standard along with an optional 6-speed auto transmission.

The six speed auto is a dual-clutch automated transmission that provides quicker gear changes when compared to the converter-based automatic transmission. It also delivers good fuel economy with the conventional automatic. Unfortunately, you cannot see manual-shift feature.

Performance

The vehicle can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 9.5 seconds according to the road tests. The estimated fuel efficiency of the vehicle is 29 miles per gallon in the city, and 38 miles per gallon on the highways. Opting for SFE package increases the highway fuel economy to 40 miles per gallon.

Driving Impressions

One can say that the new 2012 Fiesta SE is the most rewarding cars to drive in the compact segment. Though the acceleration of 2012 version is average in realistic conditions, engine equipped is a delight.

Manual transmission in the vehicle is precise and it is easy to shift with the light throws and linear clutch. The available dual-clutch 6-speed automated transmission is another asset in the segment, though its overall behaviour at low speeds is idiosyncratic. Shift quality of the new SE is bit disappointing on few occasions.

Price

The base MSRP of the vehicle starts at MSRP $14,500 and the invoice price starts at $14,010.
